If you see a dog wearing a yellow ribbon, bandanna, or jacket, it is a dog which needs space. Some of these items will show the slogan "I need space". The owner may be wearing a yellow bum bag, yellow reflective jacket because they are trying to communicate their dog is a yellow dog. A yellow dog is a dog that needs space.
There are a lot of dogs around that may not want to meet you or your dog! They will show this by wearing yellow. This might be because:
The dog has an infectious illness such as Kennel Cough
It is a working dog in training
It is a bitch in season
It is a dog recovering from an operation
It is a nervous dog and you or your dog might frighten it. Even if your dog is friendly it might lead to the yellow dog showing aggression. The owner is trying to keep their yellow dog out of trouble.
It is an aggressive dog which the owner is trying to keep out of trouble. Not all dogs are able to wear a muzzle, especially the short nosed breeds like Shih Tzu, Pugs, Pekingese, Boston Terriers etc.
PLEASE PLEASE RESPECT THIS. YOU WILL MAKE SUCH A DIFFERENCE IF YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND RESPECT THESE DOGS NEED SPACE. BE A PART OF THE SOLUTION FOR THESE DOGS, PLEASE DON;T BE A PART OF THE PROBLEM!
