We are delighted to offer an excellent secure outdoor dog training venue. Easily accessible if you live in Wimborne, Colehill, Ferndown, Three Legged Cross, Verwood, Woodlands, Colehill, Corfe Mullen, Ringwood, Cranborne,West Moors and many other nearby areas.

Now, we can offer you a really useful real world training experience. How many of you who have well trained dogs in the class find your dog won't come back when called when you are out on a walk?

Dogs learn in context and don't generalise well. This is why we are delighted to be able to offer outdoor classes starting in the next few weeks. This is expected to be very popular and so early booking is essential. We will still be offering small class sizes and we will be doing the following:

1. Recall Training. This class is for dogs which are generally well trained but a nightmare when the owner tries to call them back.  The field has livestock beside it and offers an excellent opportunity to socialise your dog so that they do not chase or bark at livestock. It also has rabbits, so also a good venue for the bunny chasing dogs which won't come back when called as they are too busy hunting! A basic standard of obedience is essential. ON HOLD DUE TO DARK EVENINGS.

Plese note some people contacted me for this class and I recorded the details on a spreadsheet which I manage to delete somehow. So, if you are still waiting for me to contact you I really apologise but I no longer have your number. Please do call me as we can accommodate you on Saturday aftenoons if you require. 01202 861340 or 07764 250554

2. General Outdoor classes. This is for dogs and owners who wish to take their training one step  further and test their dogs' obedience in a stimulating off lead environment. These clases are run every other Saturday and are available for Paws In Hands customers who are attending indoor classes. We combine obedience and fun agility in these classes.

4. Aggressive dog rehabilitation. This  is for dogs which are aggressive towards other dogs. An indoor class experience would be unsuitable as it would produce too much stress for the dogs to learn to cope and also would lack the space to be able to progressively work dogs within their comfort zone. A dog cannot learn when stressed so this is a very important factor in rehabilitating particularly fearful dogs. Most dog aggression is caused by fear/lack of early or appropriate socialisation. This is worked in a one to one capacity in the presence of other dogs but in a controlled way. Each session lasts for 20 minutes. Short sessions are best so the dog does not become too stressed.

The field is held in the grounds of the new veterinary practise at Three Legged Cross and has space for suitable off road parking. I would like to thank Vaughn Stoman for allowing us to use his facility to further dog training in this area.
